Brick Fireplace Living Room Remodel

Voorhees, NJ

The Brick Stayed. Everything Around It Changed.

We kept this Voorhees living room's brick fireplace wall, carried the brick up to the ceiling, and rebuilt the floor so the room flows into the new open kitchen.

The Transformation

The owners wanted their living room to feel brighter and connect with their new open-concept kitchen. The brick fireplace wall had character, so it stayed as the focal point. We extended the brick up to the ceiling, then let it step down in a natural, uneven edge beside the window.

The floor was the biggest job. We opened and patched sections of the old subfloor, added cement board and self-leveling compound, and set wood-look tile with leveling clips so it would finish flat.

New recessed lights brighten the room, and decorative wood posts and a beam frame the wide opening to the kitchen. The result is one warm, connected space for everyday living and having people over.
