A Rotted Deck Becomes an Outdoor Room
We tore out a rotted deck in Cherry Hill and built a new one with new footings and a covered, screened porch with its own roof.
The Transformation
The old deck on this Cherry Hill home had rotted through. Boards and joists were failing, so patching it was not the right call.
We took it down to the ground and started with new footings. Mariusz built the footings and the roof himself, then framed the new deck and the covered porch on top of them.
The porch now has screens all around, a wood ceiling and a ceiling fan, with an open deck beside it. The family can use it through more of the year, whatever the South Jersey weather does.
